Princess Anne Shrub Rose is a rose of which David Austin Roses are justifiably proud

It stems from an entirely new line in breeding and has a character that is very different from any other rose. It has its own very special beauty yet retains the classic full-petalled flowers of an English Rose

It flowers over a long period with large cluster of flowers which open in succession

The young flower is deep pink, almost red, gradually fading to a pure deep pink as the bloom matures and the undersides of the petals have a pleasing hint of yellow

The growth is upright, the form compact and bushy and the foliage is thick and succulent.

A medium strength tea rose fragrance is another reason for loving this rose either for borders or for hedging

Based in Shropshire, David Austin has spent the last fifty years developing his English Roses. The company has won fourteen gold medals for rose displays created for the Chelsea Flower Show

English Roses are very hard to beat for both flower and fragrance and are so versatile in the garden – use them in a traditional rose garden, a rose border, a mixed border, in containers or as cut flowers
